Born in 1951 in Changle County, Shandong
province, Ms. Wu Aiying joined the Chinese Communist Party
(CCP) in October 1970 and began her career in August 1973.
She has a post-graduate diploma of the Central Communist
Party School.
From 1971 to 1973 she studied in the Department of Political
Science at Shandong University.
From 1973 to 1978 she served successively as teacher
in the Communist Party School of the Party Committee of
Changle County, Deputy Secretary General of the Communist
Party Committee of Gaoya Communist Society under Changle
County, permanent member of the Communist Party Committee
of Changle county, Deputy Secretary General of Chengguan
Communist Society under Changle County, Deputy Secretary
General of the Communist Party Committee of Changle County,
Deputy Director of the Revolutionary Committee of the
County and concurrently Secretary General of the Party
Committee and Director of the Revolutionary Committee
of Chengguan Communist Society.
From 1978 to 1982 she served successively as Secretary
General of Changwei Regional Committee of the Communist
Youth League and Secretary General of Regional Party Group.
From 1982 to 1989 she worked successively as Deputy Secretary
General of Shandong Provincial Committee of the Communist
Youth League, Vice President and President of Shandong
Provincial Youth Union and Director General of Shandong
Provincial Youth Working Committee.
From 1989 to 1993 she was Deputy Director General of
Shandong Provincial Women’s Federation, Deputy Secretary
General of the Provincial Party Group, Director General
of the Provincial Women’s Federation, and Secretary General
of the Party Group and concurrently President of Shandong
branch of China Women Leaders’ Training College.
From 1993 to 1998 she acted as Vice Governor of Shandong
Province and member of Shandong Provincial Committee of
the Communist Party.
From 1998 to 2002 she was Deputy Secretary General of
the Communist Party Committee of Shandong Province (From
September 1998 to July 2001 she studied in the faculty
of political science in the on-job postgraduate class
for provincial and ministerial officials in the Central
Communist Party School).
From March 2002 she was appointed as Deputy Secretary
General of the Party Committee of Shandong Province, President
of the Provincial Committee of the People’s Consultative
Conference and Secretary General of the Party Group of
the Committee.
She was appointed as Vice Minister of Justice and Deputy
Secretary General of the Party Group of the Ministry of
Justice (MOJ) in November 2003(with the rank of principal
minister). She was appointed as Minister of Justice and
Secretary General of the Party Group of MOJ on 1 July
2005.
Ms. Wu has been representative of the fourteenth, fifteenth
and sixteenth sessions of CPC Congress, alternate member
of the fourteenth, fifteenth and sixteenth of CPC Central
Committee and member of the tenth National People’s Political
Consultative Conference.
