1.Legal education universities.

Nowadays, there are three kinds of schools and universities undertaking the legal education responsibility. The first ones are general universities dispersed countrywide. Beside the original law schools and research institutes, many new law departments are set up by the financial, technological, ethical, normal and agricultural universities, The seconds are five universities directly subordinated to the Ministry of Justice (China University of Political science and Law, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, East China University of Politics and Law, and Northwest University of Political Sciences and Law). These five universities were combined from the department of law, department of political science and department of social science in local universities in 1950's. Their disciplines were condensed to the legal science only in later years. The discipline domination of legal science hardly changes in late 1980's and early 1990's, although some political science, administration, economics and language departments were supplied. The thirds are the research agencies, such as the Institute of Legal Science of China Academy of Social Science, and other local Institutes of Legal Science.

2.Arrangement of the legal education disciplines.

Legal education for the undergraduate students is not common but professional education presently. Most universities do not give the clear classification of the legal discipline. The courses for undergraduates are sorted into the fundamental courses, such as Foreign language, Politics, Chinese, Calculus, etc; professional relative courses, such as Economics, History, Logic, Sociology, etc; and special legal courses, such as required legal courses (e.g. 14 legal core courses) and optional courses.

3.Major content of legal education.

The content of legal education contains both the curricular and extracurricular teaching. Not only taught the professional knowledge in classes, the curricular educations focus on the legal thinking training. Explicit legal thinking and comprehensive professional practice is the slabstone for the future legal career. The extracurricular education pays more attention to the legal practice, such as society practice (generally included in the required course), Court simulation and law aid, etc.
