1. Legal education for undergraduates


  In our country, the undergraduate is the major channel in legal education for a long time. Now, almost each country gives the beginning legal education to the undergraduate students, who start to study in the law school after their graduation from the high school, except the United States. After four years of undergraduate education and several years of professional training, those students could hunt a job in the legal industry.


  The law school admits students each year through the annual General Higher Examinations. The undergraduate students spend four year to study the general courses in legal science, not necessary for the detail classification. They could pursue a Master degree in a special discipline via the National Graduate Entrance Examinations, step to the legal industry via the National Judiciary Examinations, or to pursue other non-legal relative Master degrees.


2. Education for Master of Laws


  The Master of Laws candidates are only admitted from the legal undergraduate student, through the annual National Graduate Entrance Examination, those who have the same educational experience are excluded. The further courses are classified into Jurisprudence, Legal History, Constitution and Administration Law, Civil and Commercial Law, Economic Law, Criminal Law, Litigation Law, International Law, etc. The tutorial system is applied throughout the terms, which matches each student a mentor during his study. Presently, there are two kinds of terms of the Master of Laws, 2 years and 3 years.


  The original intention of the establishment of Master of Laws is to cultivate the legal academic talents and deepen the legal education. Due to the highly specific courses setup, the academic lawyer alumni are highly anticipated, rather than the practicing lawyers. Master of Laws is a kind of researching fellow, who has a strong inclination to the legislation and fulfills the demand of the Courts and Procuratorates. Therefore, most of the Master of Laws would rather choose to do the legislation and academic legal research work.


3.Education for Master of Legal Science


  Master of Legal Science is a new kind of experience education style emerged within the last five or six years, which simulate the United States JD examination mode. Only the non-legal undergraduates are admitted, that means the candidate should have at least one Bachelor degree. The Master of Legal Science studies only the fundamental courses of legal science, which has neither majors nor mentors. The objectives focus on the practicing lawyers, rather than the academic lawyers. Most of the Master of Legal Science engages the judges and lawyers, who pay more attention to the emphasis on the implementation and applicability of the law. Presently, the national Master of Legal Science education mode includes full time study and part time study both.


4.Doctor of Laws


  The education of Doctor of Laws has a clear tendency to the legal science research, with a series of extraordinary professional courses. All the graduates in Master of Laws . Master of Legal Science and other non-legal discipline could be admitted as the Doctor of Laws.




  The country provides a lot of legal education patterns, such as the college legal education, legal science correspondence-education, night-university education, full-time adult educational experience education, Institute of Politics and Law Management, College of Politics and Law, Broadcasting College, Amateur's College, Worker's College and Self-educated Examination, as well.


  Besides, alternative legal education aims were set as the "legal elite education" and "legal professional education". That means the national legal education should break through its academic style, and shift its emphasis to the essential education and professional education. Meanwhile, other foreign legal education mode is worth to be introduced as reference (such as the Japanese "Legal Professional Elites" education mode). The education inclination to the legal elites could be recognized, also. The education mission should be orientated to cultivate the legal talents, who are adapting to the social economic, political and cultural satiation, devote themselves into the stringent legal and scientific practice to show their tactful manipulation of the sophisticated contradiction.
