Judicial Administrative Departments Spare No Efforts to Boost People’s Mediation in Professional Fields, 9.33 Million Cases of Conflicts and Disputes Resolved

  It’s learned from the Ministry of Justice today that in 2014, over 9.33 million conflicts and disputes have been resolved by the People’s Mediation Organizations across the country with the successful rate reaching 97%. Great contributions have been made for deepening the construction of peaceful and safe China and maintaining social harmony and stability.

  Since the beginning of this year, judicial departments at all levels and the people’s mediation organizations have been seriously implementing the People’s Mediation Law, sticking to and developing Fengqiao Experience, and increasing construction of the people’s medication organizations in professional fields while enhancing and improving the people’s medication organizations in villages (residents’ committees) and townships (sub-district offices). In order to adapt to the need of resolving conflicts and disputes under the new situation, and based on experience from practices in different localities of the people’s mediation in professional fields, the Ministry of Justice issued the Opinions on Further Enhancing the Work of the People’s Mediation in Some Professional Fields, making comprehensive arrangements for resolving conflicts and disputes from perspectives of strengthening construction of mediation organizations and teams and increasing construction of relevant mechanisms and regulations.

  As different local departments have beefed up efforts in constructing the people’s mediation organizations in professional fields, mediation work in such fields have achieved positive results. In 2014, a total of 36,000 such professional mediation organizations were set up, resolving more than 1.1 million conflicts and disputes in some professional fields.
